Up for review today we have the rising artist KOZY with his new Refractions EP, which includes 3 original productions for us all to admire.

So far love has been shown by: Veerus & Maxie devine, Orange Recordings, Andrea Roma, Spektre, Rob Hes and more

Let’s dive right into this.

Kozy – Refractions (Original Mix)

Melodic synths take us through the intro on this track which in turn has a very solid kick drum and tight bass. FX shots shoot across the field and express dynamics. Vocal shots with excellent delays and panning add character as strings and piano shots make an appearance and keep a very calm and relaxed approach once again. Beautifully composed and very well eq’d work is at hand here.

Kozy – Grapevine (Original Mix)

Very tonal sounding kick drum with lots of power takes us through the intro surrounded by neat and tidy percussion and sub hits. Phatt sounding basses creep there way into the mix with very well eq’d melodie synths. We are soon introduced to vocal shots that really add to the glueing process as things proceed to a dark progressive state. Things remain relaxed and calm yet holds a strong presence throughout.

Kozy – Space Kicks (Original Mix)

Punchy kick drum and strong FX shots, rhythm and funk. This track has it all going on early on and keeps things lively. Vocals enter the mix and show some very clever creative work from the artist. Spacing and panning abilities are shown very strong throughout the entire track. Rhythm holds very strong and the funk nature remains intact at a skillfull level.

A massive thanks to the artist for sharing such beautifully composed work on this release. If I had to choose one word to describe this release I would certainly choose ‘Creative’. The talent of the producer shines through on every track and with such uniqueness too as you can really take the vibe and sound of the producer from each track.
