Blue Amazon & Zak Gee Sleep Deprived City EpSe-Lek-Music1: Silence Of The Apes (Original)2: Silence Of The Apes (Carl Antony Remix Remix)3: Silence Of The Apes (Pad One Remix)4: Neonato (Original)Cat: selekm023Exclusive Release Date: 13 March 2017Blue Amazon & Zak Gee are back on SeLek but this time combining their production chemistry together for what is quite a fierce EP.Both Blue Amazon & Zak Gee are no strangers to the electronic clubbing world with an array of music that’s certainly been associated to the word quality.Blue Amazon as many will know has been resonating since the early 90’s upwards. Remixes of acts like New order, Seal, Madonna, Placebo to mention a few have been completed and originals such as the no 1 club record No Other Love, The Javelin Album, collaborations with Robert Owens and many more.Zak Gee is also a very well respected producer in the modern era with quite a number of releases included on imprints such as Glamour Punk, IVR, Pro B Tech and he’s an insistent remixer adding his own unique touches on other artist work. He’s an artist that has a wide range of influences within his domain with a unique ability to be able to apply his skills to almost any sound out there. The pairing of these two artists is something that has been in the making over a short period of time but one, which is already breeding fantastic results. They have already paired up on a off shoot pop club project called Your Voice released last year on Krafted Records and have a lot of new works material in the pipeline. On this Ep we have the first title Silence of The Apes which in title sounds like a new feature film but without Anthony Hopkins eating people. Its very much a cross breed of influences in its sound with elements of Techno, Progressive and House all rolled into one. Its quite a driving affair and very much electronically treated sonically.Next we have the awesome rising talent of Manchester based Carl Antony treating the remix. Carl mix is very current sounding with a fat rhythmic play that is quite euro influenced. It’s quite powerful but also smoothly arranged with absorbing quality.Pad One provides us with the next interpretation of the same title and one which really embraces the Pad One sound with his own play on progressive meets techno. It’s quite dubby in sound this mix as it worked around a softer bass sound that’s deeply rolling. Varying elements from the original are neatly embedded in to this mix and it got great hypnotics. The last on this EP is the original title Neonato this track is a bit more stripped down than silence of the apes and features a few deeper house elements as it infuses a really cross breed of sounds and vocal snippets.
